ECO-ART COLONY

Founder and Director of SHADOW RANCH and JOSHUA TREE GREEN.  Joshua Tree Green

is an eco lab developing off the grid living, using the best of modern and ancient technologies.  Working in concert with the land, we use indigenous materials, and build around the existing

terrain and vegetation   The project began in 1994, more than a decade ahead of the mainstreaming of the green movement.  Shadow Ranch is an art colony with an entourage of musicians, sculptures, actors, writers, architects, photographers and multidisciplinary artists.


PHOTOGRAPHER

Matthew has been shooting photographs since his teens.  His photo essays have been seen

around the world, published in numerous publications including including Stern, Ichi-Ni-San,

Quo. He shot THE FOOD CHAIN DIARIES, a futuristic adventure PHOTONOVEL set in 2030

about a group of young pioneers who leave the madness of modern life to create a utopian

village in the beauty of Joshua Tree.  THE STORY OF SHADOW RANCH is a Photo book on

the Eco Art Community.  He has been shooting GODDESS BUNNIE, the handicapped pre-op

transsexual performer Sandie Crisp for the last 20 years.


MEDIA EVENTS

Produced concerts and multi-media events including those at Shadow Ranch, featuring,

Fred Drake, The Masters of Reality, Victoria Williams, Clive Wright of Cock Robin,

Freddy B DJ, and numerous others.  Produced the immersion media event UNDER AQUARIUS,

an above and below water multimedia extravaganza that audiences literally swam in.


TRAVEL / INTERNATIONAL BACKGROUND

Matthew has travelled to over 25 countries and 40 US States.   He lived 4 years in Japan

and a year in India.  Currently he lives in Los Angeles with his wife Mary Kay and their

two children. 


His father hails from from Goldsboro, North Carolina and his from Tokyo

Japan.  His father HUGH T. PATRICK is a renowned Professor of Japanese Economics,

and taught at Columbia Business School and Yale for 40 years and has published over

a dozen books and 75 articles. 


His mother MATSUNO PATRICK manages INFUSION,

a cultural exchange program between the USA and Japan.  Her father KUHARA FUSANOSKE

was a visionary Entrepreneur and Politician.
